The Delaware Dental Hygienists’ Association is a forward thinking group concerned with advancing the art and science of dental hygiene by ensuring access to quality oral health care, increasing awareness of the benefits of prevention, promoting the highest standards of dental hygiene education, licensure, practice and research and representing and promoting the interests of dental hygienists.
To improve the public’s total health, the mission of the Delaware Dental Hygienists’ Association is to advance the art and science of dental hygiene to:
- Ensure access to quality oral health care
- Increase awareness to quality oral health care
- Promote the highest standards of dental hygiene education, licensure, practice and research
- Represent and promote the interests of dental hygienists
Lead the transformation of the dental hygiene profession to improve the public’s oral and overall health.
Dental hygienists are integrated into the health care delivery systems as essential primary care providers to expand access to oral health care.
Education: Dental hygiene professionals will be prepared for the evolving scope of professional practice and settings.
Infrastructure: DDHA will have infrastructure to pursue current and future opportunities.
Alliances: DDHA is better positioning the profession to be viewed as an integrated part of the health systems through strategic partnership.
Advocacy: The profession of dental hygiene will advance at the state and federal level.
